About Gabrielle Mowangka
Welcome to my artist bio page. Here, you can explore my journey as an artist and view my contemporary artworks available for purchase in the online gallery shop.
As an ethical artist and designer from Broome, Western Australia, I am deeply inspired by my heritage as a descendant of the Djugun (Jukun), Yawuru, and Jabirr Jabirr First Nation peoples of the Kimberley region. My work encompasses a diverse range of art, fashion, textiles, and gifts, all infused with a respect for indigenous culture and the environment. In addition to creating, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experiences through art and wellness workshops, where participants can engage with our local art, culture, and a profound connection to the land and sea. My commitment to ethical practices ensures that my creations honor the stories and traditions of my ancestors while fostering a greater appreciation for the unique cultural tapestry of the Kimberley.
